The SPI / Nucleo CIRO had a strong presence at the 26th Annual Congress of the Portuguese Dental Association. Posters were presented by members of International Team: Nuno Sampaio, Francisca Matos Dias, Rafaela Oliveira, Bruno Bessa, Catarina Gomes and Ana Oliveira. Clinical cases and article reviews were presented to share the latest knowledge with the scientific community.

The European Association for Osseointegration "was formed as an international, interdisciplinary and independent science-based forum for all professionals interested in the art and science of osseointegration". This year, the congress took place in Madrid on the 5th, 6th and 7th October. As usual, SPI / Núcleo CIRO was present at this scientific meeting. This year, the founder and coordinator of this group: Dr. David Alfaiate has decided to present a scientific poster to share some of the surgical procedures he performs on a daily basis and teach some of his modifications in the advanced bone regeneration techniques to be able to improve bone availability. Dr. Nuno Sampaio and Dr. Pedro Araújo were also presents in this event, but not empty-handed. As always they were sharing knowledge, Dr. Nuno Sampaio presented his latest work in the field of platelet-rich fibrin with improvements and Dr. Pedro Araújo, with a interesting summary of the scientific actuality in the bone regeneration in implant dentistry, that nobody should have missed... After the success of past editions of this intensive course, the next edition of October has already completed the existing vacancies. The trainees will have the opportunity to take advantage of an intensive and very thorough course that combines implantology with the latest techniques of bone regeneration. Including soft and hard tissue manipulation, mastering the technique of obtaining and manipulating PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) and also putting into practice the acquired knowledge, under the teaching staffs' supervision.

The speaker Dr. David Alfaiate presented the theme "Diagnosis & planning in implantology: Failures - how to prevent, how to solve." . 12 May 2017 See the interviews held at the congress below The SPI Research Centre, supported by the Núcleo CIRO, was present at the MIDS - Malaysia International Dental Show 2017 which took place from April 21 to 23 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with international speakers from Switzerland, United States, India, Philippines, Malaysia. The prize "Best Scientific Poster" of the congress was attributed to our team, by the poster presented by Dr. Rafaela Oliveira with the title "Frenectomy Techniques of the Lip: Clinical Cases".  The SPI Research Centre, supported by Núcleo CIRO, was present at the IV Skiplant, Jahorina, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 24, 25 and 26 February 2017. Members Dr. David Alfaiate, Dr. Nuno Sampaio and Dr. Pedro Araújo presented the lectures entitled "Traumatologija u implantologiji no" and "PRF u implantologiji no IV Skiplant", exploring the traumatology associated with the placement of dental implants and the applicability of PRF in implantology. The SPI Research Centre, supported by Núcleo CIRO, was represented at the 3rd International Implant Direct Symposium, 2015, Palma de Mallorca, Spain, by Dr. David Alfaiate, Dr. Tiago Escobar, Dr. Nuno Sampaio, Dr. Paulo Oliveira, Dr. Diogo Rosas, Dr. Ivo Almeida, Dr. Pedro Araújo. Dr. Tiago Escobar received the 1st place award in the presentation of the "Ridge-Splitting Technique for Immediate Placement of Implants: Case Report" scientific poster. This award included a one-week "US Trip Educational Program by Implant Direct" in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. |
