Platelet Rich Fibrin in Bone Regeneration
Platelet Rich Fibrin in Bone Regeneration
Its consensual the advantages of the use of PRF in many bone grafting techniques in oral and maxillofacial surgery to reduce the bone healing time and risk of complications. PRF allows a significant postoperative protection of the surgical site and seems to accelerate the integration, maturation, and remodelling, while enhancing bone graft density.
This course incorporates extensive biological concepts related to this new generation of platelet concentrates, namely three-dimensional fibrin organization and retention of inflammatory cytokines, released for several days following the surgery. It also includes a theoretical and practical component with blood collection, spin and manipulation to obtain the different variants. This course culminates with the discussion of the different applications of the PRF in several clinical cases with bone regeneration.
